Contour Shoe Drawing

When you do contour line drawings, your pencil does not pick up from the page. We practiced this skill by drawing our hands. It was difficult, because our hands have many creases, and we had to draw them along with making the pictures and lines flow together. For the shoe, a person from our table took off a shoe that had laces. We had to draw the shoe as best we could while keeping our pencil down the whole time. It improved my drawing, because it made it look more flowing and neat instead of more sketchy like our other drawings.

IPad Drawing

There were many similarities and differences between using oil pastels in the classroom and using the app on the Ipad. I felt like drawing the actual shape of the object was a lot easier than doing it on the Ipad, because I had more control. However, I thought doing the background was easier on the Ipad than with the oil pastels. With the oil pastels, it was easier to blend together the colors, and with the app, they looked a lot more banded then blended. One huge advantage of uing the Ipad was being able to undo a mistake you made while drawing, which you can't actually do in real life. An advantage of using the oil pastels was you had more control of what you were doing since you were using your whole hand other than just one finger. I accomplished being able to use technology to do art work. I was able to learn about the app, and use the feature to create a similar image to the oil pastels. Technology is useful with art, because it allows us to have new experiences and use new tools to try to improve on our artistic ability and creativity. By using the features of an app, we can take advantage of them to try create a similar image with what we are given.

Cartoon Skeleton

The cartoon skeleton I did was Minnie Mouse. I started this project by going on the internet and finding a picture of a cartoon. Once I found the cartoon I had to try to draw a skeleton for the position the character was in. It was difficult to try to draw where all the bones would be and what shape they were in. I had to modify the head of Minnie Mouse and parts of the body to fit how the picture looked. I learned that drawing a skeleton and getting all the bones in place was very challenging and required a lot of planning ahead of time. I learned you have to try to draw things as you see them and not how you imagine they are. I feel like I tried my best and tried to get everything in place to the best of my ability.
